The two workshops will run at the same time so teachers will have to choose between:
Senior assessment (with Winnie)
Looking at the new syllabus requirements and how these impact on existing assessment items. Some assessment items will need to be revamped, enriched or thrown out. This will certainly help us prepare for 2011 as well as give us a chance to look at what we have done with our assessment items this year.
Participants are asked to bring along a copy of your Yr 11 or Yr 12 listening or reading assessment (text & questions with the assessment criteria). It does not matter if the assessments are less than perfect.

The Bigger Picture
The first half of the session will look at how to develop a whole school Chinese program, how each year fits together with the next and now the Junior program should fit together with the middle/senior school programs.
In the second half of the session we will have the opportunity to look at what others are doing and for all of us to revise/review our programs. I know lots of really good quality topics that I have dropped out of my program and I now realise that my program is poorer for their absense. This is a time to review, improve and enhance our programs. Yes, we don't know what the National Curriculum will bring but it is always good to do some 'housekeeping'. In the meantime we'll see what we can find out about the direction of the Chinese Language National Curriculum.
Message from Kay: I'd also like to arrange a "Craft PD" afternoon in the not too distant future - anyone particularly crafty want to volunteer to do an activity?
